StarsHotkeys Makes Multi-Tabling Easy

Over the past several months, we have reviewed AutoHotKey (AHK) scripts that help us do important tasks at the table. Virtually anything that can be accomplished with a mouse and keyboard can be written into a script. However, most AHK scripts are designed to only help us do one or two things, so we are usually left with running several at once. If we only had an AHK script that handled numerous tasks, our lives on the virtual felts would become much easier. Thanks to a recently-updated AHK script, there will no longer be a need to run tons of scripts at once in order to accomplish everything you need. Thanks to this program, many of your current AHK scripts will no longer be needed.

StarsHotkeys is a free, open source program that simply allows you to assign hotkeys to control the table, lobby, navigation, and several other miscellaneous functions while playing on PokerStars. The program has the capability of assigning hotkeys to the keyboard, mouse, and/or joy stick. Everything is accomplished using a very straightforward Graphical User Interface (GUI). The number of shortcuts and time savers that this program offers is phenomenal. Before we get into how to use StarsHotkeys, lets take a look at how to set up the program:

1. Get a copy of the script from: http://www.wickss.com/ahk/starshotkeys/
2. You will need to unzip the file to your preferred location. Double click the “StarsHotkeys” icon and then right click the icon in the system tray to adjust your settings.

4. Once you are finished making all of your changes to the settings, right click the icon in the system tray and choose “Reload.” Your new settings will then take effect.

Now that you have the program downloaded and set up, let's take a look at some of the great features that StarsHotkeys has to offer.

The basic poker functions like fold, check, call, raise, and all-in can all have hotkeys assigned to them. This can be a big time saver for you if you are playing tons of tables. If you are a player who likes to customize your bet/raise amounts, rather than betting/raising the standard 1x, 2x, or 3x, you can assign hotkeys to any increments you would like. If you want to have a hotkey that bets/raises 2.5x the big blind, you can do so.

If you are a player who plays 10+ tables at once, then you know how frustrating it can be to sit in/out at the tables. If you want to sit out at all tables, simply assign a hotkey to do so. You can also manage your table layout with this program. Navigation is a breeze with StarHotkeys. By simply pressing a button on your mouse, keyboard, or joystick, you can quickly find the next table needing attention.

The lobby hotkeys are pretty self-explanatory. You can assign hotkeys to open tables, register, join the waiting list, and open the cashier. There is no doubt that registering is much faster with this program than doing it manually.

Some of the miscellaneous and most useful options include auto-registering, never sit out, never fold for free, send actions to active table, and send actions to table under mouse cursor. These are only a few of the many features of this program.

The list just goes on and on with StarsHotkeys. Almost anything that you need to accomplish during your time at the tables can be handled with this script. Currently, this program is still open source and free, but that may not last forever. If you are thinking about giving StarsHotkeys a try, you should hurry!
